What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored by our sign-in provider, never by us in readable form).
- Participant details you add for yourself or your children: names, date of birth, skill level, medical concerns you choose to share, and emergency contacts.
- Bookings and orders: the programs, lessons and camps you sign up for, attendance, credits and order history.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Square. We receive a payment confirmation and, if you save a card, a reference to it so we can show its brand and last four digits. We never see or store full card numbers.
- Your choices: acceptance of our waiver, your photo release preference and your notification settings.
- Device and usage: if you turn on notifications, a push subscription for your browser; and anonymous page-view statistics from Vercel Analytics, which uses no cookies.
How we use it
- To run your account, bookings, payments and credits.
- To keep participants safe: staff and coaches can see medical concerns and emergency contacts when they need them.
- To send you confirmations, reminders and updates by email and, if you allow them, push notifications.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
We don't sell your information or share it for advertising.
Photos and social media
We share photos and videos from our programs on the academy's Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok accounts. We only feature participants whose account holder has given photo release consent, which is optional and can be changed any time in account settings. To help write captions, our staff may have an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) describe a photo or video before it is posted; it is not used to identify anyone. To ask us to take down a post you appear in, email us at the address below.
Who helps us
These providers process information on our behalf, only to run the service:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database, file storage and our backend.
- Vercel: website hosting and anonymous analytics.
- Square: card payments and saved cards.
- Google (Gmail): our outgoing email.
- Anthropic: drafting social media captions from our own photos.
- Meta, Google (YouTube) and TikTok: publishing our posts to the academy's own accounts.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Children
Children's information is added by a parent or guardian, or by a child through an invitation their parent sends, and is used only to run their programs. A parent or guardian can review, change or delete it at any time from their account, or by emailing us.
Keeping and protecting it
We keep your information while your account is open and as long after as we need it for records, such as payment history. Access is limited to staff who need it, and connections to the site are encrypted.
Your choices
- Update your details and participants from your account.
- Turn photo release and notifications on or off in settings.
- Ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your account by emailing us. California residents have these rights under the CCPA; we honor them for everyone.
